PT. Komatsu Indonesia Tbk. extends their HR administration with SunFish HR
September 2005, Jakarta - DataOn announces that PT. Komatsu Indonesia Tbk. regional manufacturer of construction and mining equipment of Japan-based Komatsu Ltd. has selected DataOn's SunFish HR Enterprise Version to take their human resource administration to the next level. Already using a semi-automated Payroll Software for the most important HR process it didn’t provide a solution for Komatsu’s urgent need of long-term strategic employee development. Career planning, making sure that each position is filled with the right person and ensuring succession and thus a sustainable compatible advantage plays an important roll in the company’s vision; yet it didn’t have any system in place to track and compare job-related competencies with employee skills and performances to align with these goal. After a thorough vendor evaluation Komatsu decided for SunFish HR for several reasons. The crucial reason was that SunFish HR complied best with Komatsu’s idea of interrelating competency, position requirements and employee skills management. But also the product’s web-based nature, its flexibility and scalability to adapt future requirements and its easy integration with the existing IT infrastructure among other factors lead to that decision.
The Enterprise Version of SunFish HR is implemented for 1500 employees at Komtasu’s plant in Cakung Cilincing, Northern Jakarta. When established as a limited liability company in 1982 Komatsu assembled and manufactured a comprehensive range of heavy equipment and related components, mainly for use in construction, forestry, mining and other infrastructure related sectors. Since then it has gradually grown to anticipate the market demands and now includes the production of steel cast components to allow the company's operations to encompass the entire process from casting to the manufacture of complete units.
