Banpu Indonesia innovates its personnel administration with SunFish HR
November 2005, Jakarta – DataOn announces that Banpu Indonesia has selected its SunFish HR Professional Version to automate its personnel administration and improve HR operation standards within its multiple locations.
Coal mining company Banpu Indonesia holds four subsidiaries PT. Indomico Mandiri, PT. Kitadin, PT Jorong Barutama Greston and PT Trubaindo and has grown rapidly to become one of Indonesia’s leading coal players. Now, with the employment of 4000 people in many different locations, the company saw the need to implementing an HR solution to address challenges in managing that many personnel as well as aligning all subsidiaries to the same standards within the HR administration.
In the middle of 2005 Banpu Indonesia started to evaluate HR vendors that could help them to bring online and automate its time-consuming, manual, employee information management. In this context it was important that the software would be able to integrate all of their subsidiaries in order to achieve process transparency and overall consolidation of its HR operation in Indonesia. DataOn’s SunFish HR was chosen to be implemented because of its functional depth, fast and flexible implementation on the one hand and its web-based nature and multiple company integration on the other hand. SunFish HR was the ideal match to Banpu’s requirements.
A short implementation period is paramount for Banpu Indonesia as it wants to start using the software for its employee information management in early 2006. Once implemented SunFish HR will automate many administrative HR processes simplifying management, tracking and reporting tasks for the 4000 employees in multiple companies. Besides advantages in information transparency and data processing efficiency the new solution will replace the different HR standards in each company and apply the same rules and regulations to all of them allowing alignment of the entire workforce with overall strategic business objectives and growth plans.
The time-consuming administration of up-to-date employee records during and after their employment becomes an easy task as information travels online and automatically follows proper workflows for approval and consolidation. The system improves efficiency through self-service and reduces costs of help desks, paper files and errors, freeing HR people to concentrate on the more important tasks of personnel planning and strategy development.
