The SunFish HR Enterprise Version will be installed in 7 business units, namely, RCTI, Global TV, TPI, MNC Holding and MNC Network, Seputar Indonesia Newspaper and Genie Tabloid together employing over 3500 people. MNC Group started looking for compatible HR software in 2004 when the company encountered challenges in managing that many employees in different companies and locations as well as aligning all subsidiaries to the same standards within the HR administration. In that context MNC Group wanted the software to make it possible for them to analyze, develop and retain their best employees. Turnovers continue to be a major concern for TV companies in particular due to the nature of their booming business.
In a thorough evaluation process DataOn’s SunFish HR solution impressed the companies as the software was able to easily compete with well-known international brands in respect of functional depth, user-friendliness and performance stability, while being local HR software it embedded naturally all Indonesia-specific characteristics. That the software also runs on an Oracle database and would seamlessly integrate with a second third party application were other factors that lead to the decision of implementing SunFish HR for above mentioned business units.
Once implemented SunFish HR will automate many administrative, tracking and reporting tasks for the over 3000 employees in five companies. The system not only reduces double entries, redundancies, paper files and errors; but also applies same HR standards, rules and regulation in all companies making the flow of information significantly more transparent and data processing more efficient. Administration becomes an easy task as information travels online and automatically follows proper workflows for approval and consolidation. That frees the HR people to concentrate on more pressing issues that the companies are concerned with – the hiring of qualified people and retaining them through training measures and career development. By linking Performance Management, Career Development, Training and Recruitment SunFish HR allows to frequently measure and analyze individual performances and skill levels in all companies, outline career paths for employees and develop them accordingly. Decision makers will see at one glance who needs training in what area, what positions are filled and what aren’t taking appropriate measures to support the companies HR objectives. The software results in both, more accurate man power planning and a better, more efficient recruitment process, while spending tracking in this area makes sure recruitment costs are not spiraling out of control.
SunFish will become the backbone of the seven companies’ HR operation and working practice; complement and automate existing processes, while increasing their efficiency, anticipating and supporting future developments.
