Together with Partner PT. Micron Mustika Integrasi, DataOn wins PT. ASAHIMAS FLAT GLASS Tbk. as new SunFish HR customer

 

November 2006, Jakarta – DataOn announces that PT. ASAHIMAS FLAT GLASS Tbk. (referred to as Asahimas) is going to implement the SunFish Enterprise for its, currently, 3300 employees at the company’s three office locations in Jakarta, Cikampek, and Surabaya. The sales process was led by DataOn’s partner PT. Micron Mustika Integrasi (read more under www.micronmustika.com).

 

Glass Pioneer in Indonesia, Asahimas is a Foreign Investment Company (PMA), formed in 1971 between Japan-based Asahi Glass Co. Ltd., the world's foremost glass producer, and PT Rodamas Co. Ltd., a leading Indonesian private business group with interest in industrial and consumer products.


Starting manufacturing simple clear glass in 1973 Asahimas’ product line quickly diversified to include Specialty Glass, Safety Glass, Reflective Glass and Mirror. In 1981, Asahimas introduced the Float Glass technology in its new, 3rd Furnace in Jakarta, which was the Company's 1st Float Line. A next furnace was built in 1985 in Surabaya, which were followed by further factories in the same location in 1990 and 1996.

The introduction of a new Safety Glass laminating process in 1985 also proved essential as it led to the construction of Asahimas  new Laminated Glass production line in 1994, which was followed by the company’s development of its Safety Glass factory in Bukit Indah Industrial Park, Cikampek, West Java, in 1998.

Today, with a production capacity of 570,000 tons for Flat Glass, 4,500,000 square meters for Safety Glass and 2,400,000 square meters for mirror, Asahimas, is not only the largest glass manufacturer in Indonesia but also in Southeast Asia.

 

Facing issues with HR process efficiency and overall HR expenses, the company’s HR division realized that it was no longer feasible to continue their current way of conventional HR administration. When starting to search for a suitable solution, PT. Mircon Mustika Integrasi, introduced to Asahimas the benefits of a fully automate HR system that not only integrates and automates the many important administrative HR functions, but would also support the company with longer-term, strategic issues such as developing and retaining employees. When Asahimas started to evaluated SunFish HR and realized the ability of better HR planning, HR strategy and policy alignment with company objectives, the decision was made to completely renew their HR Standard Operating Procedures, adopt best practice to gain maximum results within each HR related processing area. The HR application search turned towards a comprehensive system that covers all HR areas- administration, information, strategy.

In a careful and detailed review several local and international vendors were asked back to prove that concept in their software. SunFish HR was chosen, because of the following advantages:

Once implemented SunFish HR will provide a single, standard platform that covers payroll management, employee information, approval processing, organizational structure management, personnel career and development as well as training and recruitment management. The automated system will eliminate redundancies, speed up the HR processing times thus increasing SOP efficiency and cutting Asahimas’ HR operating costs.

 

Beyond that the new HR solution will take Asahimas beyond traditional HR and allow the company to develop a strong personnel strategy that directly connects the value their employees offer with the company’s growth targets. Utilizing the competency framework in SunFish HR Asahimas can systematically measure and analyze individual competencies and skills in order to develop employees’ careers, to identify and close position gaps, reduce education costs, and improve their hiring practice.

February 2008, Jakarta - DataOn announces that PT. Tiara Adi Kencana has decided to implement the Enterprise edition of SunFish to renew their existing HR structures and extend them to a fully integrated management solution covering not only administrative but also strategic planning tasks.

Deperindag - Ministry of Trade and Industry of Republic Indonesia
DataOn was engaged in a pilot project by PUSDATIN (Center for Data and Information) at Deperindag.  PUSDATIN is a division of Deperindag that takes care of all the information technology needs of the Ministry.  They also maintain Deperindag website (www.dprin.go.id), and continually improve the IT infrastructure and resources of the Ministry.
