December 2006, Jakarta - DataOn announces that Gagan Indonesia has decided to implement the Enterprise Version of SunFish HR to support them in managing all their employee-related processes.
Gagan Indonesia is the local subsidiary of Singapore-based RSH Limited, a leading pan-Asia marketer, distributor and retailer of international lifestyle brand-names. The group’s product portfolio includes four main categories: sports, golf, active lifestyle and fashion with exclusive distribution rights to over 60 world-renowned brand-names. These products are distributed in more than 40 countries through a network of RSH-owned stores and shops-in-shop, as well as third-party retailers. Originally established 1977 in Singapore RSH Limited has expanded into 11 countries including Malaysia, Brunei, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, India, United Arab Emirates, Australia, New Zealand and in its latest addition Indonesia.
In each of these countries there is a direct presence with full operations, a pan-Asian infrastructure of offices and distribution centers. Gagan Indonesia’s business line lies in the retail and distribution of fashionable clothes and accessories for women and men. Currently the company has eight boutiques established in Senayan City, a new and high end shopping mall in the South of Jakarta. However, the company plans the expansion of more shops and boutiques in other areas throughout Indonesia.
Gagan Indonesia selected SunFish HR Enterprise to manage employees for two important reasons: Firstly the software’s web-based nature will enable the HR administration people to access the system form any of their current offices as well as any other office location the company might add in the future. Secondly, the multiple location capability of SunFish was just as important as the company intends to open up more offices and shops in the future which will have to be added to the HR system.
The implementation of SunFish HR will be conducted in two phases. The focus of the first phase is the immediate automation of the administrative HR tasks including Personnel Management, Time & Attendance Recording and Payroll so that such processes will be handled more efficiently as well as correctly and can therefore be accomplished faster.
In the second phase the implementation of the strategic features such as recruitment, performance evaluation and training will help Gagan Indonesia to track individual employee skills and compare them to position requirements in order to ensure the right person occupies the right position. Qualification discrepancies can easily be identified and gaps can be closed through training or hiring.
SunFish will become the backbone of Gagan Indonesia’s HR operation combining payroll management, employee information, approval processing, organizational structure management, personnel career and development as well as training and recruitment management on a single, standard platform. The automated system will eliminate redundancies; speed up the HR processing time thereby increasing efficiency and cutting back HR operating costs.
