Lufthansa Systems Indonesia to integrate standalone HR solutions in one common platform
October 2007, Jakarta – DataOn announces that PT. Lufthansa Systems Indonesia will replace their currently multiple HR solutions for different administrative tasks with SunFish HR. This step will allow the company to not only operate their HR activities from one single platform but also to transform their HR management to go beyond pure administrative tasks.
Lufthansa Systems Indonesia is a Joint Venture between Global Aviation IT provider Lufthansa Systems and Garuda Indonesia. It was founded in 2005 with the purpose of developing the market of IT solutions for the air traffic industry in south-east Asia.
Lufthansa Systems Indonesia is specialized in software development and providing high-quality data center services for regional customers. As regional systems development and operating center, Lufthansa Systems Indonesia is focused on providing integrated IT solutions for all airline core processes. This ranges from reservations, inventory, check-in, network optimization, revenue management, pricing, and scheduling, to integrated operations control and crew management solutions. In addition to core processes, the joint venture provides a 24/7 help desk, local training, and infrastructure services for airports.
Although an IT developer and provider, Lufthansa Systems Indonesia’s portfolio did not include an integrated HR solution to manage their employees. The company had locally developed several individual systems to conduct different HR activities. However, maintaining multiple solutions at the same time meant too much time being spent on repetitive data entries and ensuring the same data were available in all systems. The HR department was therefore limited to core HR functions such as payroll and employee information gathering. It became clear very quickly that this situation had to change and a fully integrated and automated HR solution was needed. As HRM software wasn’t the company’s area of expertise, Lufthansa Systems Indonesia preferred a system provided by vendor specialized in HR systems.
