Jakarta Stock Exchange engages DataOn to develop commercial & information video
October 2007, Jakarta – The Jakarta Stock Exchange decided to utilize DataOn’s design and custom development services together with the SunFish CMS Video Tools to implement a video systems containing always up-to-date stock and currency information, product & service packages, worldwide stock exchange performances, news; all publicly displayed on a TV installed above the stock exchange entrance.
The video content and design combined with SunFish management tool, allow the stock exchange’s employees to update the different video feeds themselves – not only daily stock values, interest rate changes, etc. but also new promotion packages, commercials and the latest movie trailers.
Because the video would be released to be shown in public, the stock exchange´s directors take the project very seriously and insisted on a thorough vendor selection. DataOn convinced the director’s by being able to show a sample video and simple video management area to demonstrate what the live video and its management could look like. Additionally, DataOn devoted the time and meetings needed, in order to fully explain the management of the different video components to the decision makers, so that no questions were left unanswered.
Once given the order, DataOn developed the commercial & information video based on its SunFish CM video tools, which were customized for the project. It contains two simple sections: one holding the design structure of each page displayed in the video and the second holding all the different content parts such as stock & exchange rates, product highlights, movie trailers, etc. While some of the content parts such as news or services will be manually maintained in the system, other data such as stock and market movements will be retrieved directly from other computer systems of the stock exchange as such data change too quickly to be manually updated.
The quick access to each aspect of video feed pages and content allows any authorized employee to easily manage the video without requiring much experience and training to handle such a system.
