The commission’s mission is clear, to fight corruption in Indonesia and cultivate a culture of anti-corruption in Indonesian society, government and the business world.
In order to fulfill its duties of coordinating with and supervising institutions authorized to eradicate corruption; of conducting investigations, indictments, and prosecutions against corrupt acts, of conducting preventive actions against corrupt acts; and of monitoring state governance, KPK presently relies on 300 employees and due to its long-time effort of fighting corruption is planning to employ 1200 more staff to become even more effective. The commission’s employee’s come from all kinds of backgrounds, industries and institutions: business people, lawyers, accountants, police, Army, Navy, etc. and are all experienced in procurement and government budget spending for goods and services that serve the national needs.
