Save the Children Indonesia integrates individual HR operation of their different offices in one common platform with SunFish HR
October 2007, Jakarta – DataOn announces that Save the Children Indonesia is implementing SunFish HR Enterprise to replace its current payroll solution with a web-based HR system that allows them to centralize the HR administration of their several project offices in one standard platform.
Save the Children Indonesia is part of the International Save the Children Alliance, comprising 28 national organizations working in more than 110 countries to ensure the well-being of children. The organization’s presence in Indonesia spans some three decades – dating back to 1976 – and today is their largest country program. The work in the provinces of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, North Sumatra, Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, Yogjakarta, West Kalimantan and South Sulawesi includes programs that improve the health of children and women, address child exploitation and trafficking issues, enhance food security and nutrition, increase the relevancy of junior secondary education and prepare families and communities for emergencies. The ultimate goal is to provide Indonesia’s children with a brighter, more secure future.
With 800 employees spread out over many offices across Indonesia, Save the Children Indonesia was confronted with several challenges including gathering complete employee records, properly managing all administrative work in the HR department and tracking, which employees are assigned to which office and help program, etc.
The organization saw the need of an HR solution that would not only automate and simplify existing HR activities and give them access to all office’s data through one platform but that would also help them to expand their management functions to a broader level including strategic tasks.
After carefully evaluating five different vendors, Save the Children Indonesia decided for SunFish HR because the system is web-based, capable of integrating multiple locations, most suitable to their operating processes and flexible to be customized for specific requirements. Moreover, during the demonstration the organization’s employees felt the software was comprehensible and very user friendly, so that they could quickly adapt to using the software.
Through automation, SunFish HR simplifies and accelerates all time consuming administrative HR processes. Payroll, employee tracking, and reporting for all offices becomes an easy task as all necessary information is available in the same system via a mouse click and always automatically follows proper workflows for approval and consolidation. That leaves HR people with more time to develop strategic concepts for performance and skill monitoring in order to ensure that employee skills match what the situation requires of them in certain project works in different areas of Indonesia.
