PT. Apexindo Pratama Duta Tbk. implements SunFish HR in order to centralize and streamline currently localized HR processes 

November 2007, Jakarta – DataOn announces PT Apexindo Pratama Duta Tbk (“Apexindo”) selected SunFish HR to automate and seamlessly integrate its human resource workflows across their multiple on and offshore rigs and management offices as part of its efforts to transform its HR administration and prepare the HR department for a more strategic HR role.

Apexindo is an oil and gas services company that provides drilling services for exploration and production companies. The company was established on 20 June 1984 and has been successfully delivering drilling projects not only in Indonesia but also in other countries such as Brunei Darussalam, Myanmar, Australia, the Middle East and the United States.

Apexindo initially focused mainly on offshore drilling, with its strong intention to create a diversified oil and gas drilling services contractor, in 2001 the Company merged with PT Medco Antareja – an affiliated company in onshore drilling services. In order to sustain strong company growth, Apexindo went public and became the first domestic drilling contractor that listed its shares on the Jakarta Stock Exchange.

Until recently each of the company’s locations was conducting their personnel administration manually while one central was in place for processing payroll leading to problems with employee record tracking, data analysis, quick overviews, and efficiency. Apexindo decided to innovate its human resource management structures and issued an invitation to tender for a web-based HR solution that would place all their office within one common platform and allow the different HR departments to access records of the head office and vice versa. Additionally, the solution was required to include strategic such as performance management, career path planning, and training as the company’s management wants its HR divisions to start taking over strategic responsibilities.

After a thorough product screening and vendor evaluation period, Apexindo decided for SunFish HR as it best complied with their needs.

The implementation of SunFish HR will provide Apexindo with a standard platform that aligns all their locations, centralizing and automating core HR functions such as data collection, attendance tracking, payroll and tax processing as well as reporting and analyzing duties for its currently overall 500 employees. Modern and extensive analyzing tools can be utilized to delve deep into HR related data for all offices to allow detailed reports, support decision-making and provide a new level of information quality. Dashboards keep track of the most important HR issues and make them visible to senior management.

The system also includes features for conducting performance evaluations and based on their results determine career development paths; initiate promotions, mutations, position changes, etc., assign training programs and arrange the recruitment of new personnel. Overall, SunFish HR will help strengthen the company as the HR division can fully concentrate on implementing HR strategies and policies and more effectively deploying and develop its employees, thus creating a strategic picture where the organization will sit in tomorrow’s world by accessing where it can be and where it wants be.

Deperindag - Ministry of Trade and Industry of Republic Indonesia
DataOn was engaged in a pilot project by PUSDATIN (Center for Data and Information) at Deperindag.  PUSDATIN is a division of Deperindag that takes care of all the information technology needs of the Ministry.  They also maintain Deperindag website (www.dprin.go.id), and continually improve the IT infrastructure and resources of the Ministry.
