PT. Sumi Indo Kabel Tbk. & PT Karya Sumiden Indonesia implement SunFish HR to accelerate core HR functions in order to better focus on training and recruitment

December 2007, Jakarta – DataOn announces that PT. Sumi Indo Kabel Tbk and PT. Karya Sumiden Indonesia have decided for SunFish HR as integrated HR solution that would help them to automate and streamline their HR administration and improve the management structures for their recruitment and training.

Both companies are affiliates of Sumitomo Electric Industries Ltd. Japan (SEI Japan), one of the biggest in the cable and wire industries in the world. PT. Sumi Indo Kabel Tbk., founded in 1981,  is engaged in the manufacturing and sales of power cables, copper rod, telecommunication cables, enameled wire and fiber optics. As the first company in Indonesia in the Electric Cable and Wire Industry, PT. Sumi Indo Kable Tbk. received official recognition for its quality management system standard from SGS, certification ISO9001:2000 For ITS Power Cable and Control Cable, Telephone Cable and Fiber optic Cable in year 2002. PT. Karya Sumiden Indonesia was jointly established by PT. Sumi Indo Kabel Tbk and SEI Japan in 1998 for the manufacturing of copper rods and bare copper wires. 

Both companies have been looking for an HR Solution that would consolidate the management of their employees in one single platform and impose the same standards of HR administration on the two companies. Acceleration of core personnel administration is an important part of PT. Sumi Indo Kable Tbk.’s and PT. Karya Sumiden Indonesia’s efforts to better concentrate on strategic issues recruitment and training. Additionally, the system was required to include comprehensive and thought through performance management, whose standards both companies could readily adapt and follow. 

After a thorough review of a variety of vendors PT. Sumi Indo Kable Tbk.’s and PT. Karya Sumiden Indonesia selected Sunfish HR because it met best the companies´ requirements and has proven a successful HR implementation at other Japanese companies. Among the reasons for this decision are:
