Sampoerna Foundation to use SunFish HR for full overview of employee related data
May 2008, Jakarta – DataOn announces that Sampoerna Foundation is going to implement SunFish HR in order to have only one platform for collecting employee related information and conducting its HRoperations. Currently, Sampoerna Foundation’s HR Management tasks are partly done manually and partly with the help of stand-alone software solution for some HR aspects making it difficult for the HR department and management to obtain a complete overview of the entire HR situation.
Sampoerna Foundation (SF) is a professional philanthropic organization dedicated to create competent leaders with good moral fiber through high value quality education. To this date SF has awarded more than 30,000 scholarships to financially deserving students with good academic records at the elementary level all the way up to the graduate school level. The Foundation has also formulated several quality improvement programs, such as the United Schools Program (SF USP) to positively impact the lives of not only Indonesian students, but also teachers, principals, schools and the education system as a whole. As of December 2007, SF USP has adopted seventeen schools and five madrasahs in Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and Bali and had launched the Sampoerna Foundation Teacher Institute and the Sampoerna School of Business and Management-ITB.
The combination of manual administration and maintaining multiple software solutions meant too much time being spent on repetitive data entries and gathering data from multiple sources and thus limited the HR department to core administrative HR functions. Sampoerna Foundation’s management therefore decided to change this situation by implementing a fully integrated and automated HR solution. After carefully evaluating several vendors Sampoerna Foundation decided to use SunFish HR for the management of their 300 employees, because the SunFish HR standard features already met most of their requirements and the system’s flexibility would allow to smoothly incorporate the foundation’s specific needs.
With the implementation of SunFish HR Sampoerna will use one single platform that aligns all their locations, centralizing and automating core HR functions such as data collection, attendance tracking, payroll and tax processing as well as reporting and analyzing duties for its 300 employees. Modern and extensive analyzing tools can be utilized to delve deep into HR related data for all aspects to allow detailed reports, to support decision-making and provide a new level of information quality. Dashboards keep track of the most important HR issues and highlight them to the senior management. This will enable the HR department to spent more time on more valuable activities towards HR strategies, policies, employee evaluation, and recruitment; thus becoming a more strategic partner in the overall business planning.
