DataOn HR Conference on April 10,2012 discusses the different demands HR departments are facing and how employee engagement and talent management become the driver of business success.
DataOn a leading South-East Asian business application provider of powerful and sophisticated Human Resource Management solutions, welcomed 250 HR professionals to its 7th annual HR Conference at the Ritz Carlton, Mega Kuningan on April 10, 2012.
With the title ?Rethinking your role as HR department by leveraging the right technology?. Lecturers and audience discussed the transformations that are needed in HR departments to become a strategic business partner that influences the performance of the company through managing talents.
DataOn's President, Gordon Enns opened the discussion by revisiting the different roles HR is demanded to fulfill, the transformations that have taken place, and how company type, culture, industry and readiness need to be considered to choose the appropriate HR brand. He also pointed out how technology can support a company?s HR brand choice and help to achieve a good reputation.
Mr. Steve Sudjatmiko, HR and Strategy Director at PT.Dima Indonesia put that introduction into practical context by sharing with the audience how DIMA prepares for its future and achieving its vision by committing to various talent management initiatives that drive employee engagement and employee retention. Using as background several statistics on skilled labor supply, turnover rates in different industries, salary develop vs. skill development, he highlighted the importance of achieving a balance between performance improvement and providing a sense of identity, progress and achievement.
 Mr Mohamad Danial, Assistant Director Organization & Policy Group of the HR Department at Bank Indonesia, underlined the points made by Mr. Sudjatmiko when he presented which roles the HR department at BI has established and the strategic programs related to talent management, performance review, training and recruitment they have in place to fulfill this role. Mr. Danial concluded with the benefits of using technology to enforce multiple programs efficiently.
In the afternoon, Mr. Irwan Rei, Managing Director of HR Consulting company Multi Talent Indonesia, completed the seminar with a motivational speech about improving business performance through people. Mr. Rei emphasized the importance of people as creators of value for business success and how all managers, HR and line managers, need to work together to provide a climate of direction/vision, innovation, learning, talent and leadership development, as well as communication and motivation to become a high-performance company. As part of the event, DataOn also launched its much anticipated latest SunFish HR Version 5.5.
