Royal Chemie Indonesia (RCI) is the largest producer of specialty resins in Indonesia. Having a total capacity of 140 MTPA, the company is not only the largest player in the country but also one of the largest in South East Asia. In each of its five product categories (synthetic latex resins; plasticizers; alkyd and amino resins; unsaturated polyester resins; and phenolic resins) it holds a dominant market share. With more then 1,200 customers all over the world RCI’s products are used by paint manufacturers, the automotive industry, the construction industry, housing products manufacturers, shoe manufacturers, furniture manufacturers, the electronics industry, and PVC manufacturers. With the dominant market share and a big customer base comes the responsibility to commit to high quality standards and professional management. RCI’s commitment to quality and management system control has been acknowledged with the ISO 9001 certificate.
Being such a large player in the industry RCI recognized the importance of an Internet strategy for two purposes- firstly to develop the company’s name and image to an even broader audience, and secondly to use the Internet as an additional communication device between RCI, its partners and customers. Easily understanding how the information is presented is essential for the visitor’s perception of RCI’s image as an experienced and professional company.
Recommended by another customer RCI chose to entrust DataOn with this project. Based on the requirements of creating a modern and professional yet simple design and enabling RCI staff to manage the content of their web presence themselves the project was implemented with DataOn’s Content Management Solution SunFish CM v. 3.0.
DataOn developed a user-friendly and classy corporate website for RCI, which offers both existing clients and prospects a clear and simple way to find required information. It also supports RCI’s goal of spreading its company name worldwide, while the easy to handle CMS allows the staff to maintain and grow the website internally with no additional costs for third party services. RCI continues to rely on DataOn for hosting and email services.
