Established in 1976 Grand Shoe Industry was the first safety footwear specialist in Indonesia and grew within its 25 years of operation to one of the Leaders in the industry. Its shoe brand Unicorn™ safety shoes are designed with features and benefits to comply with diversified requirements and conditions by using the world renown “DESMA” computerized polyurethane injection machine from Germany.

Being a leader in an industry that has become increasingly competitive over the last years, the need to stay ahead of competition has forced Grand Shoe to review their entire business processes and supply chain. Hereby Grand Shoe had to realize that the target-orientated creation and control of its multi-stage, networked processes is becoming more and more important also in the context of continuing globalization.  With extended purchase and sales cycles and increased customer requirements/demands regarding quality, time and price Grand Shoe went looking for cutting edge technology to optimize their supply chain management.

The main reasons for the company’s decision to implement a Supply Chain Management Software were to link together all key business aspects: purchasing, warehousing, production, sales, shipping, finance & accounting in one solution in order to automate their supply chain and streamline their entire business process.  With this step the company expects to be more efficient and decrease costs in manufacturing, delivering its shoes as quickly and cost effectively as possible to its customer.

Going through an intensive vendor selection process Grand Shoe decided on DataOn integrated ERP solutions of SunFish SC and SunFish FA.  The re-organization of the existing planning and control of the entire supply chain management process required a through and through visualization of all workflows integrated in the manufacturing process.  For efficient planning all resources and capacities have to be transparent at all times in order to react quickly to the changes or delays that typify the modern production environment.

Besides transparency for each cost center an intact and coherent process flow is the basis for efficient control of the entire process.  It must be ensured that stock levels are ideally dimensioned in order to prevent unnecessary capital lock ups.

The DataOn and Grand Shoe teams worked closely together to implement the supply chain system, customized to the companies need.

After the implementation period of 9 months the SC Software will support Grand Shoe Industry to start realizing these specific goals:
