Restaurant-Portal “Mealmatch.com” decided for DataOn’s SunFish CM and development services
mealmatch.com, soon to be Australia’s most comprehensive restaurant portal site, decided to use DataOn’s Content Management System SunFish CM to meet its target of bringing Australians the countries best restaurant and dining information on the Internet. Presenting all aspects of dining at restaurants in Australia, mealmatch includes features to educate, inform and involve restaurateurs. The sites extensive search function, customer reviews, menu display, and many more functions allow users to not only make more informed decisions for their dining experience, but also to make a real-time Online table reservations or even order food online for delivery.
Considering the long list of restaurants already available in the system and having the continuous website growth in mind mealmatch.com required a flexible system for content management and automation. From the very beginning the company knew that each restaurant would have to represent and maintain all related information through its own staff while mealmatch administrators only oversee and advise on data management. Therefore the company was looking for a system that would allow two different types of data management: firstly, allowing mealmatch to maintain the overall website content and design, and secondly, empowering restaurant staff to manage their individual data with easy, efficient tools.
After a comprehensive evaluation among popular CMS providers mealmatch.com decided in April 2004 for SunFish CM as the platform for its restaurant portal. Of crucial importance was not only the usability for both restaurant owners and mealmatch administrators as well as a rapid implementation period. Also smooth extensibility of future requirements by mealmatch administrators needed to be insured in order to support the constant addition of features required during long-term growth. In addition to the CMS advantages mealmatch chose DataOn because of its cost efficient ongoing, accompanying development services, which the company needed for the custom specific programming of its reservation and ordering functions.
